Changing the world … for a minute
When selecting moments for the daily roundup, seizing in just a blink of an eye painful moments from around the world, together with victorious times in sports, plus some with glamourous spots from the red carpet you just feel it is too much, that you cannot mix them like this! You wish you would have the time to carefully look into each of the main difficult moments and help … Images can change the world, but not without our eyes and minds stopping for a moment on each of them. #RePicture

A picture taken on January 19, 2015 shows shattered glass in a room of a hospital, which was damaged after shelling between Ukrainian forces and pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukrainian city of Donetsk. Fighting eased in the Donetsk region after Ukraine launched a major offensive and claimed to clear pro-Russian rebels from most of the airport outside the key eastern city. There were a number of sporadic explosions overnight, but the violence seemed to be far less than in previous days, when heavy clashes shook the area around the airport and shelling moved closer toward the city centre, killing at least 10 civilians. This bizarre cloud formation has formed rings round the top of a mountain. The lenticular cloud sits atop the towering Mount Fuji, in Japan, during an otherwise blue skied day. The lens-shaped clouds are formed at high altitudes, when a moist air flow encounters obstructions - such as mountains or buildings - which disrupt the air flow and create standing waves in the atmosphere. These waves form on the downwind side and as the moisture in the air condenses, it forms these odd-shaped clouds. Photographer Akihiro Shibata spotted the clouds circling the top of Mount Fuji, which is the highest mountain in Japan at 3,776m, while at Yamanashi Prefecture Lake Tanuki, in Fujinomiya, Japan. The 41-year-old, from Matsumoto, Nagano Prefecture, in Japan, said: "It was a beautiful cloud formation. "I couldn't resist taking some photos even though I was actually there to take photographs of something else". (Akihiro Shibata/Solent News/REX )

A photographer captured these amazing photographs of the Northern Lights coupled with the colours of an erupting volcano. The photos not only show the vibrant display of the Lights but also show the orange glow from the continuing Holuhraun volcano eruption. Software engineer Stefan Brenner, 31, who took the photos, said: "I travelled more than 9,320 miles (15,000km) through all parts of Iceland to see the Northern Lights. "I really love them and cannot get enough of them. I've seen them when they have been extremely strong two times now when the sun activity was very high. "They were so bright, colourful and fast, just out of this world. These particular images were taken at Jökulsárlón, a glacial lagoon, in Iceland." The natural phenomena lasted around two hours and Stefan described the colourful display as "unreal". (Stefan Brenner/Solent News/REX)
